Here is a list of Obama's lies so far:
1. Engage in bipartisanship. Near unanimous republican opposition in both houses suggests his promise was a lie.
2. Transparency. Secret backroom negotiations on the spendulus bill suggests this promise was also a lie.
3. Transparency again. Using Daschle's idea of hiding health care rationing in a budget bill and pushing it through fast before anyone knows what hit them makes this a lie as well.
4. No lobbyists. Appointment of Lynn, Solis and others proves this was a lie.
5. End politics as usual. Hi-jacking the census for political purposes proves this was a lie.
6. There is no earmarks or pork in the spendulus bill. In an embarassing case of "everyone knows you lied, Mr. President", Shumer proclaims that Americans know, but don't care about the billions in pork in the bill.
7. Promise to bring washington outsiders in for his administration. Gimme a break. He only has beltway types in his government. Another lie.
8. That he cares about traditional marriage and families. Appointing a lawyer who defended a child pornographer to the justice dept. proves this was a lie.
9. To run a clean, law-abiding administration. Numerous appointments of tax cheats proves this was a lie.
10. Before the vote: the spendulus bill will create over 3.5 million jobs. After the vote: the spendulus will create OR SAVE 3.5 million jobs. Their definition of a saved job: the decline in jobs lost. Of course, when nobody has a job except the politicians, there will be less job losses. DUH!
11. OBAMA THE FEARMONGER says the current situation is as bad as the Great Depression. Not true. Job losses in the 30's were triple what they are today. Current unemployment rates are around 7.6%. A bad number to be sure. However, in 1932, unemployment peaked at 25.2%. GDP in 2008 actually rose in 2008 (part of the bad economic situation of the Bush years that obama keeps pointing out), and is projected to decline by 2% in 2009. In 1930, GDP fell by 9%, in 1931 GDP fell by 8%, and in 1932 GDP fell another 13%. By any measure, obama is lying about our current economic situation. It is not good, but it is nowhere near as bad as he makes it out to be. The question is why? The answer is to force through programs that otherwise couldn't be passed.
12. obama talks gloom and doom about our economic situation. However, he continues to lie about the cause of our current economic situation: forcing banks to give loans to people who can not afford to pay them back. With the new giveaway of $75billion to pay for the existing bad loans on the books coupled with promises to make more bad loans, we are certainly headed for bad times.
13. But obama is also lying about what we should really be afraid of: the bankrupting of the American financial system and the financial enslavement of all tax paying American citizens. For the one thing obama has been careful to omit is that it is we, American citizens, who are on the hook to pay back all of the borrowed money through higher taxes.
